After several previous attempts to bring live music back to the venue formerly known as The Crypt, in Hastings, the 16th January 2019 sees the launch of a new monthly local music night.
Cellar Full of Sound is a new concept aiming to showcase and introduce original local unsigned acts to local gig goers, using The Crypt name once again.
The line up for the first event are Pepe Belmonte, The Kiffs, and Archie Norris.
Doors open at 7pm, with a free glass of Prosecco for the first 50 people into the venue.
Entry is just £2.
The event organisers told The Stinger, "The arrival of Cellar Full of Sound signals the return of the Crypt as a live music venue in Hastings.
Once firmly on the tour map for bands and artists of all genres, we're looking to bring it back with this, our monthly night dedicated entirely to unsigned bands and singer songwriters, which will have both a physical, live audience and an online one: We will be live streaming the whole show each month.
Each artist will play 2 songs on with the Original Crypt stage, the Corner Stage or our VIP Acoustic Lounge, with performances interspersed with interviews and other content.
Each Cellar Full of Sound episode is open to ALL ages - families welcome, ticket price will be £2 and the bar will be open (proof of ages will be required)"
Not content with this new monthly event, The Crypt are also aiming to put the venue back onto the national live music circuit, where it was once a very well respected and important place to play.
To that end The Crypt have announced that the Stereo MC's will be playing at the venue on Friday, 1st February.
It's great to see that The Crypt is up and running once again, and all at The Stinger wish the venue all the very best for the future.
The opening of any new live music venue in Hastings is always very welcome, but one with the rich pedigree and history of The Crypt, is especially exciting.
We'll see you there on 16th January.
